Your hero’s journey may break your heart, your bank, or your arm. But it will also mend your soul, your life, and your part of the wild new world.

Love’s Cosmic Source
All the little loves that make our life what it is are sparks that fly off from a cosmic wheel that is much greater than ourselves. – Dharmavidya David Brazier, Unconditional Love |

How Prayer Works
To understand how prayer works, consider the sun, which shines everywhere without hesitation or hindrance. Like God or Buddha, it continuously radiates all its power, warmth, and light without differentiation. When the earth turns, it appears to us that the sun no longer shines. But that has nothing to do with the sun; it’s due to our own position on the shadow side of the earth. If we inhabit a deep, dark mine shaft, it’s not the sun’s fault that we feel cold. Or if we live on the earth’s surface but keep our eyes closed, it’s not the sun’s fault that we don’t see light. The sun’s blessings are all-pervasive, whether we are open to them or not. Through prayer, we come out of the mine shaft, open our eyes, become receptive to enlightened presence, the omnipotent love and compassion that exist for all beings. – Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, “Prayer” |

It is not necessary to throw away your tradition or your family. Keep everything and introduce mindfulness, peace, and joy into it. Your friends will see the value of mindfulness through you; not through what you say, but through your being. – Thich Nhat Hanh |

The Reward of Practice
As you bring alignment, relaxation, and resilience into your daily life, your breath automatically becomes fuller and starts moving through your entire body, just as the Buddha suggested in his description of meditation. Without forcing a thing, let your breath breathe you: breathe into your entire body, and breathe out just as effortlessly. This condition, nothing more, nothing less, is really the reward and benefit of the practice. – Will Johnson, “Full Body, Empty Mind”” |

Fear – including all varieties of anxiety and rushing – causes a tension that chokes off what wants to happen. Remaining calm, as calm at the end of an event as at the beginning, facilitates a smooth relaxed completion.

Unselfish Generosity
To give unselfishly is at least momentarily to be free of ourselves, free of greed and attachments, resentments and hatreds, habitual and isolating acts of self-protection. – Dale S. Developing Compassion for Our Feelings
As we become mindful of a feeling that’s driving us, we realize that we don’t have to react to it and be driven by it. Instead, we can simply observe it, recognize that it represents a part of us that is suffering, and have compassion for that part of us. – Bodhipaksa, “Digital Detox: Reclaim Your Mind From Social Media Addiction” Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |
